Brocante: Up-Cycled Jewelry
French Flea Market treasures are retrieved and repurposed into dramatic and amusing art-to-wear!
Nan Gard and Kay Pederson have been collaborating, as Brocante, for ten plus years.
We travel to France to visit the Paris flea
markets which provide us with the components
& inspiration for our artfully designed statement necklaces. We find the artifacts, add antique, vintage, and/or new beads then connect them with stringing wire and/or anodized steel wire.
The necklaces are finished with our own antique button/bead loop fasteners. This gives us our signature look…very bold and dramatically different!
Our wall art often includes Kay's original watercolor sketches on vintage French ephemera. We add a collection of French artifacts all found in the Flea Markets of Paris.
We’ve sold our upcycled jewelry at art festivals all over the Pacific Northwest.
